There is a new law that promotes access to your credit reports and it is fr.ee!

The Fair Cre.dit Reporting Act requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.

A credit report includes information on where you live, how you pay your bills, and whether you’ve been sued, arrested, or filed for bankruptcy.

Nationwide consumer reporting companies sell the information in your report to creditors, insurers, employers, and other businesses that use it to evaluate your applications for credit, insurance, employment, or renting a home.

This score is big as far as what rate you’ll get when getting a house, car, or anything else you need credit for.

Even if you think you know what it will say, I suggest you get a copy. Remember its fr.ee.

Read the report because many times there will be mistakes.

HOT TIP: Go online to their websites and you can dispute something that is on your report.

Try to dispute one item a month at the most.

Here is where this is awesome. They(cre.ditors) have to respond in 30 days or the agency will remove it from your report.

If you get something removed, make a copy of it and send it to the other two big agencies.

How do I order my fr.ee report?

You can order your fr.ee annual credit report online at annualcreditreport.com, or call 1-877-322-8228, or by completing the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mailing it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

When you order, you need to provide your name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth. To verify your identity, you may need to provide some information that only you would know, like the amount of your monthly mortgage payment.
